UC Berkeley Extension courses are open to the public and use a different enrollment interface than Concurrent Enrollment classes offered through UC Berkeley’s main campus. As a result, Concurrent Enrollment students will not be able to use the class application process in CalCentral to enroll in a class offered by UC Berkeley Extension.
First, please navigate to extension.berkeley.edu to browse available classes. When you are ready to enroll in a course, add the course to your shopping cart, log into your student account, and proceed to checkout. Once your enrollment is complete, you will receive an email receipt and confirmation. Enrollments are processed in the order received, so we recommend that you enroll early to ensure your spot. If you need assistance with registration or have questions, please email extension@berkeley.edu.
Payment for all UC Berkeley Extension classes is due at the time of enrollment.
Additional considerations
If you are in a visiting student program, please note that you should discuss your Extension enrollment with your program advisor first as your program may restrict enrollment in Extension courses based on their program policy.
International students enrolling in an online Extension class to meet their full-time enrollment requirement of 12 units must take into account that you cannot enroll in more than 3 online units.
Please also note that UC Berkeley Extension courses will have different enrollment, drop, grading basis change, and withdrawal deadlines than courses taken through Concurrent Enrollment. Students who choose to take UC Berkeley Extension courses are strongly advised to review Extension-specific deadlines and policies.
