Submitting a class application doesn't guarantee enrollment in that class. Students will only be officially enrolled in a class once they have received approval.
To account for potential denials, we generally recommend that students in full-time programs apply to more classes than they expect to take. That way, you can make sure that you will meet the 12-unit enrollment requirement for your F-1 or J-1 visa status. Please also make sure that you check with your program if there are any additional credit requirements.
The approval process consists of multiple steps and cannot be expedited. In most cases, each form needs to be approved by at least two people, the instructor and a representative of the academic department.
While we understand that students are eager to receive a decision, students must wait until the application has been approved at each level that a department requires. Once you have submitted your class application, there are no further action items on your end.
You can follow the status of your submitted applications by clicking on "Submitted Class Applications" in your Concurrent Enrollment Card (in the My Academics tab). There are four statuses:
- Pending: your form has been routed to the approver, but a decision hasn't been reached
- Withdrawn: you have withdrawn your application for this class and no decision will be reached
- Executed: your class application has been accepted and the class should now show as enrolled in your My Academics
- Denied: your form was denied by the approver
