Students in full-time visiting programs will be able to pick up their student ID, called Cal 1 Card, and their Student EasyPass (Clipper Card/Transit Card) from our Downtown Berkeley office in the week before classes start. You will receive an email prompting you to make an appointment to pick up your card. In order for us to print your card, we will need you to upload a compliant photo of yourself on the Cal 1 Card website.
Your Cal 1 Card is essential to access a variety of on-campus services, such as libraries or the gym. And while you don't need your Cal 1 Card to access our classrooms, we do recommend that you have it on you at all times in case you need it to identify yourself as a UC Berkeley student.
Your Student EasyPass (Clipper Card) is an all-in-one transit card that students can use to access public transit both around the campus and in the greater Bay Area. Clipper Cards provide free service for only AC Transit and Bear Transit, however, the card can be loaded with funds to access BART, MUNI, and many other Bay Area transit options.
Students taking individual courses through Concurrent Enrollment will need to pick up their Cal 1 Card directly from the Cal 1 Card Office on the second floor of Sproul Hall. Appointments are required.
