Through Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health Insurance Company, you may seek services from a Primary Care Provider (PCP). You may need to access services from this option if you have a pre-existing or ongoing medical condition, chronic health issues, and/or need to refill a prescription medication. This option also works best if you want to regularly see the same doctor.
Please see the step-by-step guide to help you book an appointment with a primary care provider below:
1. Navigate to Anthem's website and login to your Anthem account;
2. Next, you will input your location (ZIP Code, City, or Country)
3. Go to “Primary Care”
4. Your search will result in several local doctors and physicians. Filter your search results on the left-hand side of the page to find your preferred doctor or physician. When selecting a primary care doctor, be sure to check “Accepts New Patients” as a filtered option on your online search.
Please note: while physicians with One Medical Group are in-network with your health insurance plan, utilizing their services is an additional $199/year membership, which is not automatically included in your school-sponsored health insurance plan. Also, please do not book appointments with physicians at the University of California Berkeley Student Health Services (UHS) as this clinic does not provide medical services to students on this health insurance plan.
5. Call the number associated with any doctor to schedule an appointment.
